"Lo que des a los niños, los niños darán a la sociedad"

Our students made their own circuit (simple, series or parallel). In pairs or by their own they chose the circuit then wanted to practice with. The materials they needed were: Wire Light bulbs A battery A switch  There we have the results.    

Some of our students have decided to make their own Newton disc to experience if with the colors of the rainbow we are able to have with light. Here we have some of their results. CONGRATULATIONS Algunos de nuestros compañeros han decidido hacer el trabajo voluntario y fabricar el disco de Newton para ver si con los colores del arco iris somos capaces de obtener luz blanca. Algunos de los niños y niñas de la clase de 5ºA  han decidido realizar el periscopio del que hablamos antes de irnos de vacaciones (trabajo voluntario) con el fin de comprender mejor el contenido de Natural Science  la reflexión de la luz (reflection). Hoy hemos visto los diferentes diseños, hemos explicado cómo lo han realizado y cómo funciona. Estos son los resultados de algunos de ellos.          Some of our of 5th A pupils have decided to make their periscopes in order to understand the Natural Science content -REFLECTION- (It was not a compulsary work). Today we have seen the diferent designes, they have explained how they have made them up and how it works. Here we have some of the results.    

We have studied (in Natural Science) what reflection is. When we are in front of a mirror or we put an object in front of it, our image or the image of the object is reflected on it. Thanks to this fact we can see the same shapes, colors,... in different positions. This also happen with water, glass... For a better conprenhension of this concept, I´ve challenged our students to make up a periscope. In this way they are going to see how reflection works. Altought we have explained it in class, here you have a video that can help you to create your own periscope. Don´t forget to study how your periscope has been done and how reflection works on your gadget. LET´S PRACTICE!

In Natural Science we are studing what heat and light is. One of the parts of this unit is to recognise if a material is a good conductor (if it lets pass the heat trough it) or an insulator (if it doesn´t let pass the heat from one place/object to another). Moreover, thanks to heat, a substance can change from solid to liquid. This fact is known as melting. To study this two concepts we have done an experiment using the scientific methodology: Make a questioin (what is going to happen?) Make a hypothesis (what of the three spoons (metal, plastic or wood) is going to melt faster the butter?) Experiment. Analysis (what is happening while we are doing the experiment?) Conclusion (Can we accept or reject our hypothesis?)
