Hola a todo el mundo El plan para hoy es el siguiente: SOCIAL Vamos a por la última parte del tema 5 WATER. Hoy veremos la parte de los ríos.  La puedes estudiar con esta presentación  RIVERS  o también desde las páginas 48 y 49 de tu libro. Cuando lo tengas claro realiza las actividades que tienes asignadas en BLINKLEARNING. (Como sé que me lo preguntarás, SÍ, DEBES APRENDERTE LOS RÍOS MÁS IMPORTANTES DE ESPAÑA así como sus vertientes. En los últimos días del curso, estuvimos estudiando la economía y cómo podemos hacer un buen presupuesto para que sin que nos sobre ni nos falte demasiado, podamos organizarnos el día a día. En clase jugamos a ser mayores y uno de los proyectos que hicimos para trabajar este contenido fue diseñar nuestra propia casa. La tarea consistía en, con un presupuesto dado (25.000 €), debían amueblar una casa al completo. Utilizamos revistas de diferentes tiendas para comparar precios, nos dimos cuenta de que la publicidad no siempre es lo que parece (pues al comprar un sofá no es igual 26 € que 26€/mes) y también aprendimos a valorar los pequeños detalles de las cosas que tenemos a nuestro alrededor en casa. Estos fueron algunos de los resultados.

During Early Modern Ages we had different dinasties ruling Spain. Here you can see the family tree we have been studing about. On the top you can recognised Enrique IV, Catholic Monarchs and Juana I. Later we move along time with the Hapsburgs (Philip, Carlos I...) Then, after some decades and the War of the Spanish Succession, Spain is ruled by another dinasty: The Bourbons.

The 16th and 17th centuries are known as GOLDEN AGES because of the important contribution that many painters and writers had to the world of art. Some of the most famous painters in the 16th century was EL GRECO. In the 17th century we can talk about MURILLO AND VELAZQUEZ.       Refering to writers, Cervantes, Tirso de Molina or Lope de Vega were (and they still are) really important too.          Here we have a presentation that Pablo made for our class. The second part of the 6th unit (Social Science) is related with the different voyages that people such as Colombus, Pizarro or Hernán Cortés did in their days. Pablo and Diego have taught us more information about them. Diego has talked about Cristobal Colombus, Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro. Pablo about Fernando Magallanes and Juan Sebastián Elcano. Ending the Middle Ages a new era is going to start in Spain. MODERN AGES The main fact that marks the beginning of this period is the Discovery of America in 1492 and it ends with the French Revolution in 1789. Lot of things are going to happen in this ages. Some of them are summarised in this online timeline made by Teacher MariLuz. EARLY MODERN AGES TIMELINE LET´S HAVE FUN WITH HISTORY.

The period of History we are studying right now is the Early Modern Ages. It starts (more or less) in 1492 and the first part we are going to know study is "CATHOLIC MONARCHS". To study it in a deeper way, Mario and Elias have made a PPT in which is explained what The Inquisition was and what is the relation with this period of the History. On the other hand, Rahma and Elisa have chosen to talk about Juana "la Beltraneja" and Juana "la Loca" making a family tree that is going to help us to identify each person in these period of our history. This is going to be a really interesting unit !!

   During this trimester we have been studing about what happened in the Middle Ages. Some of the most important facts are the beginning of this period (in 476 AD), the Battle of Guadalete (in 711), the Battle of Covadonga (in 722), the Battle of Navas de Tolosa (in 1212), the Reconquista... In order to understand better this period of our history, our children have made a comic showing us how interesting and funny it could be. They have worked really hard to design their comic, deciding what was important to include on it  and how they had to explain each fact to the rest of the class. Here we have the result! History can be tedious, but let´s watch this video that is going to help us to understad the period in which visigoths came into the Peninsula. Muslims (that came from the north of Africa) fight against Visigoths in the Battle of Guadalete,  to conquest the Penisnsula. In 711 AD, Muslims won this battle and they called the Peninsula " Al- Andalus." The capital of the Peninsula change from Toledo (the capital with the visigoth empire) to Córdoba (with the muslims)

Estamos empezando la Unidad 5 en Social Sciences y para empezar, fuimos al museo arqueológico en el que tuvimos un primer contacto con la materia. Ahora estamos acercándonos un poco más a la historia, a las formas de vestir y a las diferentes clases sociales que había en la Edad Media. Hemos empezado identificando hitos históricos importantes que nos hacen dividir la historia en periodos con este eje cronológico. También hemos creado nuestros propios disfraces de moros y cristianos gracias a nuestra auxiliar Chloe. Los utilizaremos al finalizar la unidad para hacer algo muy divertido...pero de momento es sorpresa... Hoy, la clase de 5º A, hemos visitado el Museo Arqueológico de Madrid. Ha sido una visita muy interesante en la que hemos aprendido sobre "La Edad Media: Visigodos y Al-Andalus" Gracias a esta visita ahora palabras como " fíbulas ", " bulla " o " capitel " nos son más familiares. También lo son hechos históricos como "La Conquista de Hispania por los musulmanes en el año 711 dC" o " La Reconquista , fruto de un largo proceso que culminó de la mano de los Reyes Católicos en 1492 dC". Esta actividad nos ha servido para introducir la siguiente unidad de Social Sciences. Hemos empezado comprendiendo y realizando en nuestro cuaderno un Timeline parecido al siguiente, que iremos completando con datos de la exposición y otros nuevos que vayan apareciendo a lo largo de este trimestre.
